KCEDC meetings on the sustainable Economic Development Policy

Posted by NRTT Editor in Other Stories

Recently, as you would be aware, the Kyogle Community Economic Development Committee (KCEDC) held a series of meetings to help determine the community’s views on a sustainable Economic Development Policy for the Kyogle LGA.
The Transport, Energy, Utilities & Public Administration Workshop, to which you were invited, was held on 15 February. If you were unable to attend the workshop I would like to invite your organisation to have the opportunity to contribute by emailing your response to the following questions to Mr George Morrow:
george_morrow@bigpond.com by Monday, 8 March.
1. What types of jobs and opportunities do we want to create in Kyogle now and for our children?  What new investment in skills and training do we need?
2. In 10 years time, what industry sectors do you want to see as strong sectors in the economy?  How can we work with existing industry sectors to support their long term sustainability?
3. How can the Kyogle region lead in the creation and growth of sustainable industries  this covers industry needs for energy, water, waste management, resource use, bio security, food security and transport?
4.What new ideas, new directions, opportunities and innovation does the Kyogle region need to create a sustainable economy?
5.How do we need to work with neighbouring areas on sustainable economic development?  What partners do we need to help us reach our goals?
6. What kind of future do we want for the Kyogle region?
Kind regards
Tom Llewellyn
