It is on again the Kyogle Bull Ride Spectacular to be held on the Saturday 20th March 2010 at the Kyogle Showground. Gates will open at 4.30pm, with chutes and full bar facilities commencing at 5.30pm. NO BYO ACOLHOL.
The cost will be $25 – per family, $10 – per adult and $5 – for children under 16.
Mick O’Berlee will be entertaining the crowd both during and after the bull ride until the bar closes. Mick was a huge success last year with the younger generation and the young at heart.
The bulls will be supplied by Garry (Paw-Paw) Fuller. Garry has the bulls in top condition. They have recently been bucked at Alstonville and Tenterfield. At Tenterfield the bulls were the winners by far with only 3 riders scoring out of 27.
There will be plenty of action in the arena as cowboys from all over NSW and QLD compete for cash and trophies, especially the covenant Barry Fuller Memorial Shield. This is awarded to the winner of the open bull ride.
This year there is also going to be a chute out to finish off the bull ride. This is where the six best riders are placed on the six best bulls, riding for $500 in prize money, winner takes all. Some of the riders that are hoping to be there will be the top 2009 NRA bull riders such as Casey Morris, James Jones, Damien Clarke, Martin Carlo along with our local NRA 2009 finalists Danial Piggott, Chris Whitney and Greg Makejev.
Also there will be a Novice bull ride, Junior bull ride, Steer ride, NRA Poddy ride plus a local poddy ride for young cowboys/cowgirls who like to get their hands and jeans dirty.
Protecting the riders will once again be Greg Makejev a champion bull fighter and young Scott Tough. Greg will not only be clowning and riding but is also sponsoring our Junior Bull Ride.
Part proceeds from the night will go towards the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Kyogle Rugby League, Kyogle SES, St Johns Ambulance, Kyogle Rotary Club and other community services.
The major sponsors this year are Edenville Hay & Chaff and George & Fuhrmann.
The committee would also like to thank Greg Makejev Contractors, Greenmountain Meats, Kyogle Country Store, Elders, Kyogle Real Estate, Kyogle Glass & Aluminium, Westlawn, Oaten & Hoffman and Hogan’s Sawmill for their support.  The event could not take place if we did not have these local businesses behind us.
